CATALYST DEVELOPMENT PLAN

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA

PROJECT TEAM:

Real Estate Strategy: Greenstreet Ltd.

Architect: Blackline Studio

In 2013, Anderson + Bohlander participated in a planning effort for the near-east side of Indianapolis with the East Washington Street Partnership, a collaborative effort between Englewood CDC, Southeast Neighborhood Development (SEND), and Neareast Area Renewal (NEAR). Anderson + Bohlander was retained to develop a plan focused on the future of development along a 4 mile stretch of the Washington Street corridor extending west from Downtown. The plan provides a guide for future development and infrastructure investments though the legacy industrial corridor and urban neighborhoods. The plan also includes an evaluation of industrial submarkets, case studies of industrial reuse corridor, and strategies for five catalyst nodes for near-term growth in the area. The Plan has provided ECDC with a useful tool for grant applications, partner and developer recruitment.
