In 2016, Anderson + Bohlander was retained as the lead planner and landscape architect for Ancora in a winning proposal to redevelop the historic General Electric campus on the near southwest side of Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. The $280 Million project will contain a mix of uses and be redeveloped over a number of phases into a world-class innovation district that will serve as a dynamic hub for job growth and entertainment, and breath new life into the surrounding urban neighborhoods that have seen decline since GE Operations were terminated in the early 1990's. The plan includes a number of features meant to encourage a vibrant and active public realm with a series of connected “found spaces” that highlight historic architecture, unique views, and access to downtown. The project will include a new 30,000 square foot food hall and fresh market in some of the oldest buildings on campus, co-working offices, and new office space for major employers in Northeast Indiana.
