ARGONNE CORRIDOR
REVITALIZATION PLAN
WARSAW, INDIANA
In 2020, Anderson + Bohlander was retained by Kosciusko County Economic Development Corporation (KEDCo) to develop a vision for the redevelopment of the Argonne Corridor. This corridor is home to a number of vacant legacy industrial properties, along with some existing industries that were in the process of considering relocation options. There is a key gateway moment at the southern end that connects the City of Warsaw with the Town of Winona Lake and Grace College. The project included a significant amount of outreach with existing business and property owners in the area to inform vision plan concepts. A series of yield analysis exercises for clusters of properties showed the client how properties could be redeveloped and infilled. These were intentionally ambitious as the area contained a level of character and history not found in many locations of Warsaw. The project also provided design guidance for the streetscape itself, including pedestrian and vehicular safety improvements under the existing rail embankments. Parking concepts were developed in conjunction with each yield exercise to show how development could occur for various land uses.
